English for Academic Writing is a course designed to develop students’ ability to write clearly, accurately, and effectively in an academic context. The course focuses on building essential writing skills required for higher education, including paragraph development, essay writing, and the organization of academic papers.
Students will learn how to construct coherent arguments, use appropriate academic vocabulary, and apply correct grammar and punctuation. The course also introduces key academic writing conventions such as referencing, avoiding plagiarism, and maintaining a formal tone.
In addition, students will engage in critical reading and thinking activities to support their writing, enabling them to analyze sources, synthesize information, and present well-supported ideas. By the end of the course, students will be able to produce structured academic texts suitable for assignments, research papers, and examinations.
